NASCAR suspends three crew members, reinstates one other



Marten Lindley, crew chief of JR Motorsports’ No. 1 Chevrolet pushed by Sam Mayer within the Xfinity Sequence has been fined $10,000 and suspended subsequent week’s race at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

The No. 1 automobile was certainly one of 4 taken again to NASCAR’s R&D Middle in Harmony, N.C., for additional analysis following final weekend’s race at Darlington (S.C.) Raceway.

Through the automobile’s inspection, it was found the staff had didn’t comply with rulebook procedures to have its chassis re-certified.

Along with the suspension, the No. 1 and Mayer have every been docked 10 factors.

Two Truck Sequence crew members – Marcus Horton of the No. 88 ThorSport staff and Jerick Newsome of the No. 2 Rev Racing staff – have each been suspended from this weekend’s race at North Wilkesboro (N.C.) Speedway.

Each crew members had been discovered to have unapproved protecting clothes or gear (helmets) final weekend at Darlington.

Additionally, NASCAR has reinstated Nicholas Covey and he’s now eligible to return to all NASCAR exercise.

Covey, a jackman on the pit crew for Austin Dillon’s No. 3 Richard Childress Racing Cup staff, was indefinitely suspended lower than a month in the past for a violation of NASCAR’s substance abuse coverage.
