As groups with NBA title ambitions in Milwaukee and Boston fortified their rosters in latest weeks and days, the Clippers arrived at coaching camp with a roster nearly unchanged from the tip of final season.
That started to vary late Monday, when after months of discussions with Philadelphia, the Clippers and 76ers started to maneuver towards finalizing a commerce that might see All-Star guard James Harden land in Los Angeles, in keeping with individuals with information of the discussions not approved to reveal them publicly.
Along with Harden, the Clippers are receiving P.J. Tucker, a 38-year-old defensive stalwart ahead and profession 36% three-point shooter. The price: Buying and selling away Nicolas Batum, Marcus Morris Sr. and Robert Covington — their trio of veteran forwards, all on expiring contracts — in addition to younger ahead Kenyon Martin Jr., who was acquired from Houston through the offseason.
