Cincinnati FC’s Marco Angulo dies of crash-related accidents

FC Cincinnati midfielder Marco Angulo died Monday from accidents he suffered in an accident in his native Ecuador in October. He was 22.

The Ecuadorian Soccer Affiliation introduced his loss of life on Tuesday.

Angulo was a passenger in a single-car crash southeast of Quito on Oct. 7 that killed the driving force and one other passenger. Angulo sustained a head harm and lung contusion and had been put in a man-made coma.

He had been on mortgage from FC Cincinnati to Ecuadorian top-flight aspect LDU Quito.

“We’re deeply saddened by the lack of Marco — a husband and father, a brother and son, a good friend and teammate. He was a joyful, sort younger man who lit up each room he entered,” FC Cincinnati mentioned in a staff assertion. “Our whole membership grieves this tragedy, and we’re pondering of and praying for his household. He was a cherished member of the FC Cincinnati household, and he can be missed.”

Angulo joined Cincinnati in December 2022 from Independiente de Valle in Ecuador and was a part of Cincinnati’s 2023 staff that received the Supporters’ Protect, paying in 24 matches (9 begins) and posting two assists. He was with LDU Quito the complete 2024 season.
