The Commanders minimize kicker Cade York on Monday after he missed two area targets throughout Washington’s 37-20 loss on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers throughout Sunday’s season opener.
York pushed a pair of kicks large proper on Sunday, one from 56 yards and the opposite from 47.
York’s launch comes three weeks after the Commanders traded a conditional seventh-round choose to the Cleveland Browns for the second-year kicker.
Getting into Sunday, York had not kicked since his rookie 12 months with Cleveland in 2022. He made 24 of 32 area objective makes an attempt that season after being drafted by the Browns within the fourth spherical.
Cleveland waived York in 2023 after a shaky coaching camp.
A number of stories have stated that Washington plans to signal Austin Seibert to exchange York. Seibert, 27, has made 45 of 56 area objective makes an attempt over his five-year NFL profession.
The Commanders host the New York Giants (0-1) on Sunday.
