The UFL has changed a second head coach because it makes remaining preparations to open its common season.
The league introduced Monday that Memphis Showboats coach Ken Whisenhunt has taken a go away of absence for private causes. The information got here sooner or later after D.C. Defenders coach Reggie Barlow took the top coach job at Tennessee State.
Showboats offensive line coach Jim Turner will function head coach in Whisenhunt’s absence.
“If and when Ken Whisenhunt is able to return to the UFL household, we are going to welcome him with open arms,” UFL president and CEO Russ Brandon stated in a press release. “… We take delight within the UFL being a household first league and we respect Ken’s choice to take a go away of absence for private causes right now.”
Whisenhunt, a former NFL head coach and participant, joined the eight-team UFL final fall. The Showboats will host the Michigan Panthers within the groups’ opening recreation Sunday (12 p.m. ET, ESPN).
