Mikaela Shiffrin sustained a puncture wound to the fitting facet of her stomach and extreme muscle trauma following her crash throughout a large slalom race in Killington, Vt., the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Workforce mentioned Sunday.
In pursuit of her a centesimal victory, Shiffrin tumbled into the security netting and remained down for a number of minutes. She was taken through sled from the course after which by ambulance to Rutland Regional Medical Middle.
“There was no ligament harm assessed. Bones and inner organs look OK,” U.S. Ski & Snowboard workforce wrote on Twitter.
On Saturday, Shiffrin posted a video to social media to replace her followers on her situation. The 29-year-old mentioned she “simply cannot transfer,” including that she had an abrasion and “one thing stabbed me.”

Per U.S. Ski & Snowboard Workforce, a return date for Shiffrin has not but been decided.
Shiffrin, 29, has received all 4 slaloms through which she’s competed since getting back from a knee damage following a downhill crash in January.
On March 11, 2023, in Are, Sweden, Shiffrin received her 87th World Cup race to interrupt the report held by Ingemar Stenmark of Austria.
