The Dallas Cowboys are buying quarterback Joe Milton III from the New England Patriots, a number of media shops reported on Thursday.
Per ESPN, the Cowboys are sending their compensatory fifth-round decide to the Patriots and a seventh-round decide.
Milton, 25, will function the backup to Dak Prescott in Dallas after Cooper Rush signed with the Baltimore Ravens final month. Trey Lance, the Cowboys’ third-string quarterback the previous two seasons, is a free agent.
Making his NFL debut, Milton accomplished 22 of 29 passes for 241 yards and a landing in a 23-16 win in opposition to the Buffalo Payments on Jan. 5. New England chosen Milton within the fifth spherical of the 2024 NFL Draft out of Tennessee.
